7/1 Discussion Update: And the GD Movie Night Winner Is…

Come to tomorrow’s GD Movie Night to watch the cute, gay move Trick with cute, gay boys!

Don’t know the movie? Watch the trailer at first, then the whole thing with us & popcorn tomorrow!

See you tomorrow.

7/1 Discussion: Movie Night!

This upcoming Friday’s discussion on July 1 will see the return of GD movie night, and we need your help in picking the film to watch!

Check out our Top Gay District Movies List and vote for your favorite to watch this week. Friday’s movie will be chosen from the top three choices. Vote now!

6/24 Discussion: Dealbreakers

You know those hard rules some people have about dating and even friendships? Certain categories of guys/people which you immediately rule out when picking those you surround yourself with? Join us this Friday, June 24th as we talk about some of our own totally acceptable rules of attraction, or absolutely bizarre ones we’ve encountered. Let’s compare notes and find out what similarities and surprising differences we may have, talk about how to best express preferences and, of course, why some dating preferences may be somewhat justified or just plain weird.

No-one-older-than-35-ers, vegansexuals, singles-of-faith, and pro-choicers/pro-lifers-only are all welcome. Creepy assertions that you’re what another member is looking for are unwelcome.

As always, we’ll be meeting at St. Margaret’s Episcopal at 1830 Connecticut Ave NW (enter via the Parish Office door, use the buzzer) at 8:30 Friday night. We’ll vote between two tapas destinations (Uni Sushi versus vFalafel, both on P Street) to hang out at afterwards, so come with an appetite.

Return of the Photo Scavenger Hunt: This Time, It’s Personal

Looking to get out this summer to explore the District with friends or meet new guys? Come out to Gay District’s Second Annual City-Wide Photo Scavenger Hunt on Saturday, June 18 at 2pm. Team up with other young gay/bi/anything-but-straight men from the DMV-area for an afternoon of hunting for sights and photo opportunities around the city, like taking pictures with strangers on the street who are wearing the right color of tee shirt or are pulling a child on a leash. Just think of all the not-at-all awkward connections you’ll make, like stopping shirtless joggers to get a picture illustrating “Slippery When Wet.”

Make sure to check out the pictures from last year’s photo scavenger hunt–especially the winning Pink Team who were lucky enough to be the models for our Facebook event page and invite, so go see their handsome faces and RSVP.

The weather report calls for a beautiful day and it’s a great way to spend a Saturdy afternoon and plan in-person what you’ll be doing that night

Open House, NSA-Style

New to the area? Tired of the same old crowd? Want to branch out?

Come out to the Gay District No Strings Attached Open House this Friday, June 17 from 8:00-10:00pm at St. Margaret’s Church in Dupont Circle. We will have good food, company, and conversation!

Gay District is a weekly facilitated discussion group for gay men ages of 18-35. We talk about life, love, relationships, politics, religion, and culture. Afterwards, we head to a local establishment for dinner. We also hold special events, including ice-skating, game & movie nights, hiking, and other fun activities. Facilitators will be present at the open house to answer questions.

Please come out! If you’ve never heard of us or come before and gotten busy (in any number of ways)–we welcome all.

Bring friends, win prizes! The more friends you bring, the better your chances to get a gift certificate or free dinner.
