03/07/2014: Our gay brothers abroad

Hi boys,

As I’m sure you’ve read, our gay brothers and sisters have been struggling for rights and acceptance in their home countries, whether in RussiaUgandaNigeriaIndiaZimbabwe or other parts of the world. This week we’re turning our global gayz to them, educating ourselves about what they’re going through and talking about how we can support them from DC.

So, catch up on what’s happening by reading the news and bringing ideas Friday on how Gay District can make a difference in LGBT lives on the other side of the world. As always, we will meet Friday at 8:30 pm at the DC Center.

Your facilitator this week,

Remember, Gay District meets at The DC Center, located inside the Reeves DC government building. Attendees will need to enter the Reeves building via the “Exit” doors on 14th Street, facing McDonald’s. We encourage attendees to bring their photo ID to gain access inside the building. If you do not have or are unable to present a photo ID, please contact me ahead of time by email or The DC Center’s Executive Director David Mariner.
